Some of Our Current Projects
Enhancing Cancer Diagnosis
Many community members will pass through GGH’s doors on their cancer journey, beginning from diagnosis.
Sometimes, a symptom will cause concern. Perhaps a pain, unexplained bleeding, shortness of breath, or something else. Sometimes, a procedure called a ‘scope’ will be in order, so physicians can look inside the body, in a minimally invasive way.
Emergency Department X-ray machine
Car accident? Broken bone? Stomach pain? For these, and dozens of other reasons, chances are, you’ll have an x-ray in GGH’s Emergency Department.
In 1997, we bought a new x-ray machine for the Emergency Department. It’s had three moves over the last 15 years, and has taken a whopping quarter of a million x-rays.
Our Endowment Fund – a gift in perpetuity
The Foundation of Guelph General Hospital established an Endowment Fund in the late 1990s to be a source of stable funding for the Hospital. Over the years, close to $2 million has been transferred to Guelph General Hospital to fund important projects including IT infrastructure, an ultrasound machine and monitors.
Equipped to Care
There are always priority pieces of equipment that our Hospital and our patients can’t afford to live without.
These items range from the basics – wheelchairs, beds, monitors, oximeters, carts etc., to more unique items like MRI goggles.
